MSTI Afterschool Enrichment Internship

The MSTI Afterschool Enrichment Internship is offered in collaboration with Children’s Empowerment, Inc. (CEI). CEI is a non-profit corporation that provides in-school and after-school academic programs to at-risk middle and high school grade students in Daly City, California. The MSTI Afterschool Enrichment Internship allows SFSU students to teach in these afterschool programs.  Students are eligible to apply if they are a current MSTI Fellow or Member. Awardees will be given $1500 per semester, to work in one of three Daly City middle schools. Interns will design and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based activities in math or science to children in their regular afterschool programming.

Qualifications: Applicants should be able to commute to the school site and work between the weekday hours of 3-6 PM. Some experience working with middle school aged children is desirable. Internship awards are based on merit and are not dependent upon financial aid status. Awardees will be notified by E-mail.

The three school site locations are:

Thomas R. Pollicita Middle School
550 E. Market Street
Daly City, CA 94014

Benjamin Franklin Intermediate School
700 Stewart Avenue
